How we specify equipment

We write out every machine specification in detail before quoting, from your job needs to power, floor, extraction and training, so you know exactly what you are buying.

Matching your jobs and materials first

We start each equipment specification by looking at what you need to cut, mark or shape, whether it’s signage panels, steel brackets, aluminium enclosures or timber boards. You tell us your typical jobs, part sizes and materials, and we match them to the right machine family and model.

From there, we check the part size against the machine bed, spindle or laser class and fixturing options. If you want to nest cabinet panels, engrave trophies, cut mild steel or mark serials, we make sure the machine can handle your material and batch size comfortably.

Power, floor space and site access

We always check your incoming power supply, single-phase or three-phase, against machine requirements. No buyer wants surprises when it comes to wiring and installation. New mains work must be signed off by a registered electrician with a Certificate of Compliance.

We also specify the machine footprint, service clearances and floor loading, so you know the space needed for safe operation and maintenance. Doorways and access routes are measured if heavy kit needs to be moved in.

Extraction, tooling and fixtures for local conditions

Most machines need dust extraction, compressed air or coolant. We specify exactly what’s needed, including fume extraction for lasers or staged filtration for routers and engravers. This is key for safety and to meet dust and noise regulations.

We also detail the right tooling, collets and fixtures for your jobs. You see what’s included, like collet trays or clamp sets, and what extras may be useful. Local climate matters too: on the Highveld, keep machines clean and oiled; coastal sites need extra rust protection.

Training, service and why we write it down

We believe every buyer should know exactly what’s being quoted. That’s why our specifications include delivery, installation, operator training and after-sales service support.

Every written spec is checked against your site needs, so there’s no confusion later. It helps your team plan and keeps your machines running safely from day one.
