Training hours

Our in-person training hours focus on safe, competent machine use for South African workshop teams, directly on your new Feature Equipment machines.

Common questions about training hours

Many workshop managers ask what our training covers when Feature Equipment installs a new machine. Our standard training sessions are held during weekday working hours, either at your site or at our Sunnyrock machine hall in Germiston. We focus on your specific equipment: machine startup, safety checks, controls, basic maintenance, and the first production runs relevant to your work.

You may also want to know if we cover operator safety or if we train only on controls. The answer is both. We always include safety under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and practical work on your own parts, so your team gets hands-on confidence.

Sessions are tailored for operators, foremen, supervisors and anyone running or setting up machines. If you have new staff, or you're converting from manual methods, training helps avoid early mistakes. For workshops in coastal cities like Durban, Gqeberha or Cape Town, we also cover rust prevention and electrical care for humid or salty air.

What you need to send us for booking

To match our training to your workflow, we need some details in advance. This helps us prepare the right guides, tooling and sample jobs for your team.

Please send us a message through our contact form with the following information:

What to expect after you contact us

After we receive your message, our team checks your details and machines, then contacts you to confirm the practical arrangements. We schedule your session based on your production needs and availability of trainers who know your machine type.

On the day, we bring the necessary tooling, material samples and safety guides. If your machine is already installed, we do a walk-through and start with essential safety and guarding checks, then move on to practical training at the machine. Each operator signs off on competency as required by the Driven Machinery Regulations.

If you need ongoing support or later refresher training, we can arrange follow-up visits or advanced sessions. For individual operators or small teams, we sometimes offer training at our Sunnyrock machine hall, where you can see machines under power on real workpieces.
