Delivery and what to expect on arrival

We deliver Feature Fibre Laser markers directly to your site, whether your workshop is in Joburg, Durban or the coast. Each machine comes securely crated with dust covers and all the accessories you have chosen. Our team checks your access, power supply and space before the machine leaves our Sunnyrock facility.

On arrival, we uncrate the laser with you present and inspect it for shipping damage. We confirm your incoming single-phase or three-phase supply, and make sure there is proper earthing and ventilation in the area. If you are exporting, all pallets and crates are stamped to meet ISPM 15 requirements.

Installation, commissioning and operator handover

Installation is done by our trained staff who wire the machine to your supply (a registered electrician must provide a Certificate of Compliance for new connections). We check all interlocks, fume extraction and safety covers before powering up.

Commissioning includes proof marking on your actual parts, focusing the beam, and setting up your fume extraction. We hand over a practical operations guide, and set up the control PC or pendant. Mr Ashlin Gounden or Ms Nuraan Fakier will walk your staff through basic maintenance and startup checks.

Operator training and first-run support

We train up to three operators or supervisors per machine during handover, focusing on safe operation, workpiece positioning, file loading, and basic troubleshooting. Each trainee learns to set up the mark field, clamp fixtures, and check for safe enclosure use.

Laser safety is a priority: we show your team the correct PPE, how to use the laser interlocks, and what to do if a fault occurs. We also cover safe fume extraction and emergency shutdown steps. Operators must be competent as required by the Driven Machinery Regulations.

Routine maintenance and keeping your laser reliable

Regular care is key for clean, reliable marking. Fibre lasers do not need much mechanical maintenance, but optics and filtration require attention, especially in dusty or coastal areas.

Stick to these checks, and keep records so you know what was done and when. Replace worn parts with genuine Feature spares, and always disconnect power before opening the enclosure.

Requesting service or ordering spares

For service, technical support or spares, send us a message through our contact form. Please include your serial number, site location, and a brief description of the issue or the part you need.

Photos of any error messages, labels or worn parts help us identify the issue. If you have had a power cut or outage, let us know if the laser re-homed correctly and if any files were interrupted. Our team will organise a callout or courier as needed.
