What to expect at delivery and installation

Your Feature Mill 3-Axis arrives crated and ready for offloading. If you request, our team will coordinate bakkie, forklift or crane offload to the prepared location. Machines are checked for transit damage before unpacking. In Gauteng and main centres, we handle delivery and positioning, ensuring there are no snags with doorways, overhead clearance or foundation level.

A registered electrician must connect the power supply as per SANS 10142-1 and issue a Certificate of Compliance. We recommend dust-free installation, clear access for the coolant system and chip removal, and a moisture-resistant spot near a wall. Machines in Durban, Cape Town or Gqeberha need extra attention to corrosion: wipe down ground ways, oil exposed steel and keep a dehumidifier in the cabinet.

Commissioning, handover and operator training

We commission every Feature Mill 3-Axis on site. This includes checking all axes for travel, referencing and limit switches, spindle warm-up, coolant flow and emergency stop function. Our technician tests the pendant controller, checks tool change repeatability and runs a sample cut if requested.

Operator training covers homing the axes, setting work zero, spindle speed adjustment, changing tools, and using flood or mist coolant. We explain basic safety, what to check before each shift, and the correct way to clamp material. Handover includes a printed start-up checklist and a Q&A session. Mr Ashlin Gounden can show your team practical recovery steps after a power cut.

Routine maintenance for the Feature Mill 3-Axis

Keeping your mill running depends on a few simple daily, weekly and monthly checks. Your team should record these in a log kept near the machine, not only for compliance but as a habit for consistent results.

Use only mild degreasers, lint-free cloths and the recommended lubricants. Avoid sweeping or blowing chips into the ball screws or electrical cabinet. Clean, dry compressed air is best for chip removal, but only at low pressure around sensitive electronics.

How to request service or order spares

If your Feature Mill 3-Axis needs service, a part or troubleshooting, send us a message using our contact form. Include your machine serial number (found on the side plate), a clear description of the problem, photos if possible and your site location.

For spare parts like collets, spindle kits or tool crib accessories, state exactly what you need and your preferred shipping method. Our team, led by Mr Ashlin Gounden, will assist with remote support, site visits or arranging the right part promptly. We deliver and install across South Africa, from Gauteng to KZN and the coastal regions.
