What each spec means on a working floor

Boards are supplied as both peg and drawer units, giving you flexible storage for a mix of cutters, inserts, small fixtures, and hand tools. Peg boards keep your most-used items right in view, while drawers hold anything that needs dust cover or secure separation. Tags are printed for clarity and can be wiped clean, so you dont need to worry about labels fading or going unreadable in a month of oil and dust.

Every map insert acts as a quick visual reference for where each insert or cutter belongs, reducing the time lost searching for tools during shift changes. This is especially helpful in shops with multiple operators or visiting fitters who need to find or return items fast. The crib is aimed at busy floors, workshops, job shops, and technical training spaces where tool movement is high and losing tracking can stop work.

Site requirements for installation

The Feature Tool Crib does not need power, air, or extraction. All you need is a flat, stable surface or wall section to mount the pegboard, and enough floor space for operators to open drawers fully without obstruction. Peg boards can be fixed to block, brick, or steel walls using standard wall plugs or bolts.

If you are placing your crib near a machine bay, allow for at least 600 mm of clearance in front of drawers for easy access. Keep the unit away from splash zones or direct coolant spray, especially in coastal shops where humidity and salt air can speed up rust on unprotected metal tools. In high-dust areas like Gauteng, regular wiping of labels and drawer fronts is recommended.

Options and extras to consider

Standard packs include printed tags for common cutter and insert types, but you can request blank tags or custom-printed labels for your own tooling conventions. Map inserts are supplied as templates that can be updated as your tool sets change. Drawer dividers and shallow trays are available to split storage further, especially for small loose inserts or screws.

If your shop uses a separate consumables cage or has rotating shift teams, you may want to add duplicate tag sets so each shift can check in and out their own group of tools. For high-turnover jobs, shadow boards (foam or plastic cut-outs) can be fitted to the peg panel to make missing items obvious at a glance.

Questions to answer before requesting a quote

To quote you accurately, we will need to know how many tooling types you plan to store, the number of operators or shifts using the crib, whether you want wall or floor mounting, and if you require custom tags or maps.

Also, let us know if your shop needs extras like drawer dividers or shadow boards, and whether you need the crib delivered assembled or as a flat pack for your own setup.
