Engrave clamp tray

The engrave clamp tray secures small, flat workpieces for accurate CNC or laser engraving without surface damage. It is built for repeatable alignment and ease of use.

Pair it with the bays it suits, and read our note on measuring the bed before a quote.

What the engrave clamp tray does and compatible machines

The engrave clamp tray is an accessory that holds thin, lightweight parts firmly during engraving. Typical applications include jewellery tags, nameplates, trophy plates, company badges and small acrylic or glass blanks.

This fixture is designed to match our Feature Engraver Pro and the Feature Fibre Laser when marking small parts. It suits any setup where you need stable, repeatable positioning for intricate toolpaths or precision laser marking. Use it wherever adhesive mats or loose fixturing is too slow or risks part movement.

How to set up and use the clamp tray

To achieve accurate and repeatable results, fit the clamp tray to your machine bed or table, then adjust the clamps to match your blank's thickness and size. Make sure the tray sits flat, and that clamps do not interfere with the tool or laser beam path.

Always test the holding force gently before starting a production run. The tray is suited to light holding for non-ferrous and brittle materials, so do not overtighten. Use a clean, dust-free surface for best grip, especially in dusty Highveld or coastal conditions.

Care, cleaning and expected wear

Keep the tray clean and store it covered when not in use. Remove dust, chips and fine debris after every run, as build-up affects both grip and precision. In Gauteng and Bloemfontein, fine dust is common, while coastal areas deal with humidity and corrosion, wipe down steel parts and check for rust if you are near Durban, Gqeberha or Cape Town.

Inspect the clamp arms and pads for wear. Replace pads if you see grooves or hardening, especially after heavy use on metal tags or abrasive glass. Lubricate moving parts lightly with a non-silicone oil, but avoid getting oil where it could mark soft workpieces.

What to tell us when ordering a clamp tray

When you send us a message through our contact form, please specify which Feature machine you use, the typical size and thickness of your blanks, and how many trays you need. If you run both a CNC engraver and a laser marker, let us know so we can match mounting points.

We can help you choose the right clamp tray configuration for your jobs, whether you are engraving serial plates, jewellery items, or trophy labels. If you need custom clamp fingers or extra pads, mention these too so we can quote and supply the correct fit.
