Feature Fibre Laser marking cell, now on AM.CO.ZA markers
Serials, asset IDs and logos that survive solvents, handling and weather, marked next to your line instead of at an outside shop. The source and head at the heart of the cell now come from AM.CO.ZA.
The cell buyers ask about most
The Feature Fibre Laser is the cell we get asked about most in the Sunnyrock machine hall. Production managers want permanent marks on parts without sending them out. This season we made a change that improves the cell for every buyer: the marking source and scan head now come from our partner AM.CO.ZA.
It is a compact benchtop cell for permanent marking on stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium and anodised or plated parts. It runs from a PC over USB, and fits a standard bench, so it lives next to the line instead of in a separate room.
- Serial and batch numbers on machined parts and tooling
- Asset tags and plates for mining, municipal and factory equipment
- Logos and part numbers on anodised aluminium covers
- Barcodes and square codes for stores and traceability
The marker behind every cell
We looked at several marking sources before we settled. AM.CO.ZA’s fibre laser marking range, including the LLM-F20 benchtop fibre marker, beat the others on the points our marking customers raise before every order.
- Service that knows the machineSame-day answers on mark depth and settings, backed by AM.CO.ZA’s online guides for the questions operators ask most.
- Best priceDirect imports mean a full cell, fixtures and handover at a level small workshops and colleges can justify, not only big plants.
- Build qualityA rigid column and arm, a heavy footplate and a scan head kept free of dust. Marks stay crisp from the first tag to the thousandth.
“When a buyer in Durban phones me about mark depth, I want answers the same day. AM.CO.ZA's team know these machines properly, and that makes the buyer's downtime shorter.”

How we set the cell up
Every install is planned with the buyer before anything ships. We measure the bench, check the extraction stub, and agree where parts will be loaded, so the cell arrives planned and not as a box someone has to figure out.
“We decide where parts will be loaded before the crate leaves. Then the cell arrives already planned.”
Palesa Motaung, Machine bays
Every Feature Fibre Laser cell includes:
- A fixture map for small parts, so tags and plates sit in the same place every time
- A fume stub and filter cue sized by our extraction team to the work, not to a brochure
- Fibre marking boards from AM.CO.ZA for jigs and test marks
- Our lens wipe cadence card, written for coastal plants where salt air settles on optics
“Marking anodised parts and coated tags makes fumes. We size the extractor to the work.”

Part of a wider machine hall
In Sunnyrock the marking cell sits right next to our Feature Router 1212, so buyers can watch a full part flow: cut on the router, marked on the fibre cell. For router buyers who want a spindle upgrade or a spare, we also recommend AM.CO.ZA’s water cooled spindles, alongside our own Feature Spindle Kit. Same partner, same standard of support.
If you run a dedicated marking line, our fibre mark bay layout shows how to place the cell, extraction and part racks for a full shift.
Handover and training
Operators leave the handover session knowing how to load a job, set power and speed for steel versus anodised aluminium, clean the lens and when to call for help. We also cover marking order on finished parts, see our note on serial before polish.
“Most marking problems are habits, not hardware. Good hardware from AM.CO.ZA plus good habits from day one, and the cell just keeps working.”
Shaun Pillay, Service and training
